The MLK Day of Service begins with a kick-off breakfast for our community before we head to our respective areas of service to our broader Baltimore community.
This year’s keynote speaker is Jessica Harrington, MPA, an associate faculty member at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Director of Curriculum for Health Policy Research Scholars Program, a national change leadership program for doctoral students funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
With 18 years of experience in higher education, she brings a passion for nurturing leadership development, particularly among students. As a Certified Executive Leadership Development and Strengths-Based Coach, she believes in the power of cultivating community through values-based equity-focused leadership. She is a lifelong learner and committed to helping people thrive in all stages of life.
Jessica views leadership as an inclusive calling. “It lives within all of us in many ways at different times,” she says. “Leadership is cultivated in community through awareness, reflection, practice, and growth.”
