Open now, the Embassy of Australia’s on-site gallery presents a historical exhibition celebrating the enduring friendship and shared values between Australia and the United States.

USAUS250 exhibition highlights and themes:
‘Below the Surface, Beyond the Sky:’ collaborations in space, technology, medicine, and critical minerals. An interactive iPad display profiles leading Australian businesses operating in the US, showcasing innovation and partnership in action.

‘Mates – Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow:’ follow a timeline spanning from 1770 to today, highlighting significant milestones including defence cooperation. The opposite wall complements the timeline with two video screens featuring the past ‘2018 Centenary of Mateship’ and current events on ‘Australiagram’.

Lasting relationships are sustained through people and ‘People-to-People Connections’ outline aspects the alliance has flourished: education, leadership, travel, sport, and culture. The ‘Luminaries’ wall celebrates notable figures and achievements on and off the sporting field remembering historic moments that united both countries.

‘Stars on Screen, Stage, Page and Song’ celebrates creativity: from Academy Award-winning actors, celebrated authors, and musicians, this section explores Australia’s rich cultural impact. Visitors can remember classic hits from both countries and download a curated Sounds Australia Spotify playlist, taking Australian music beyond the gallery.

Together, the exhibition, which is supported by Worley, BHP, Bluescope and Macquarie, tells the story of a relationship that has evolved over centuries and continues to thrive.
