3 JUNE - GEMA DAY Built for the GEMA Day stage, a curated program of presentations, visual immersions, and conversations focused on what’s shaping the work NOW and what comes NEXT.
On one stage, throughout the day, we’ll get into…
Designing the Inevitable
AI is accelerating everything and making most work instantly forgettable. As the extraordinary becomes expected, the advantage shifts from speed to conviction. The brands that win won’t chase what’s new, they’ll design what lasts. In this session, David Shing reframes creativity as a signal of belief, not output, exploring how to build narrative clarity, cultural relevance, and strategic confidence in an era where everything is possible, but very little endures.
with DAVID SHING, Digital Prophet + Cultural Architect
The Next Canvas
Artists at the intersection of art and technology explore how AI, immersive media, and emerging tools are reshaping visual culture and the future of creative expression.
This is a creative-driven conversation with artists actively redefining the work — not reacting to it.
Through their lens, the session examines how new mediums are influencing aesthetic, authorship, and creative control.
A direct look at the ideas, tensions, and breakthroughs shaping what comes next.
A moderated conversation.
SWITCHCRAFT: The Art of Reinvention in the Age of AI
A keynote on what makes human creativity, the original currency, irreplaceable in the age of AI. The so-called “soft skills” of feeling, intuition, and human knowing are becoming your greatest advantage.
This is not a moment to hand power to corporate systems and watch from the sidelines. It’s a moment to trust your perspective, speak up about what needs to change, and stay radically adaptable. Because in a landscape being reshaped in real time, believing in your own humanness and knowing how to apply it, isn’t philosophical. It’s strategic.

The State of Our Art
A curated, immersive showcase of the work shaping how storytelling, marketing, and culture show up now — across trailers, promos, key art, platforms, and beyond.
The work that hits emotionally. The work that raises the creative bar. The work that breaks the rules and redefines what marketing can look like. No panels. No over-analysis. Just the work — experienced back-to-back, at full volume, the way it was meant to be seen.
From intimate human storytelling to cinematic scale to unexpected culture-driven ideas that barely resemble marketing at all, this is a real-time look at what’s resonating now — and what standout actually looks like.
with NINA VON DEM BUSSCHE, Creative Director, Then We Take Berlin + LEE HOBBS, SVP, Head of Creative EMEA, Warner Bros. Discovery
Reconnecting in a Virtual World: Designing Brands People Feel
In a landscape defined by fragmentation, speed, and algorithmic sameness, most brands are optimized to be seen—but not remembered.
This session looks at how audio and visual identity—starting with music—can reintroduce emotion as a strategic advantage. Not as an add-on, but as a system that aligns teams, sharpens creative decision-making, and builds lasting audience connection.
Through the transformation of TV5Monde, we’ll unpack how a disciplined visual framework paired with bold creative choices can scale globally without losing its human core. From rigorous design grids to the unexpected return of continuity announcers, this is about using craft with intention—not nostalgia—to cut through in an AI-saturated environment.

Getting to the Best Work of Their Lives: Leading Creative Teams Through Constant Change
If decisions at the top are shaping the direction, creative teams are the ones tasked with making the work happen, inside that reality. And right now, that reality is defined by constant shifts: new platforms, new technologies, evolving expectations, compressed teams and timelines, and delivery demands that don’t let up.
John Ford has spent 25 years building and leading cross-functional creative teams across Viacom, AOL, Coca-Cola, and Netflix. In this session, he draws from that hard-earned experience—alongside conversations with creative leaders from across the industry—to unpack how teams actually operate under pressure: how they hold onto the integrity of an idea as it moves, how they maintain standards when speed becomes the default, and how they engage with data and AI without losing what makes the work distinct.

Less Speculation.
More Truth.
How AI Is Really Changing Creative and Marketing Workflows
AI is dominating the conversation, but what’s actually working inside creative and marketing teams today?
In this visual, real-world session, Wesley ter Haar breaks down how AI is being used across concept development, key art, and campaign production—revealing where it’s accelerating the work, where it’s falling short, and what creative teams need to understand right now.
Less speculation. More truth about how the work is really getting made.

Every Wall is a Door: The Freedom of Constraints
We all face limitations of one kind or another. Time, budget, materials, opportunity. All these things can get in our way, frustrate our process, and often become easy excuses for why we haven’t done what we said we’d do. But there’s a hidden paradox at the heart of the creative process: the greater the constraints, the more creative we have to become.
In this uplifting and inspirational talk creativity expert Richard Holman traverses the worlds of photography, music, film, literature and design to explore how, if you let them, constraints can lead to your most original work.
This talk isn’t about overcoming limitations. It’s about leaning into them and letting them take you to a place you never imagined you could go.
