A night you won't forget!  Join Chef David Duarte and Miner Family Vineyards winemaker, Michelle Shafrir, at Grapes & Hops.  We will be pairing a full steak house style meal with 5 courses, including your wine pairing for just $100/ person!  The meal includes real A5 Japanese Wagyu and wine from Miner Family Vineyards.  This event is a chef presentation as well as meet the winemaker.  It is one of the Valley's most intimate dining experiences.

Amuse Bouche - Mini Wagyu Wellington, Paired with Miner Family Napa Chardonnay

Soup - Lobster Bisque, Paired with Miner Family Napa Sauvignon Blanc 

Starter - A5 Wagyu Steak Carpaccio, Paired with Miner Family Emily's Cabernet Sauvignon 

Main - A5 NY Strip with truffle mashed potatoes and pickled carrot ribbons. Paired with Miner Family The Oracle Red Blend 

Dessert - Basque Cheesecake with Bruleed Peaches, Paired with Miner Family Viognier

Miner Family Vineyards is a dynamic family-owned winery tucked into the eastern hills of the Oakville appellation, squarely within the heart of Napa Valley. Founded in 1998 by Dave & Emily Miner along with his folks Ed & Norma, Miner is defined first and foremost by a sensational portfolio of wines, wines consistently characterized by and committed to individualistic style and uncommon quality. In only a few short years, Miner has identified, sought and secured a number of California's finest vineyard sites to produce and showcase a wide array of varietals.

About Chef David Duarte:
Chef David Duarte retired as a firefighter/paramedic after a long, distinguished career in public service in Arizona and left for southern Italy to pursue his passion for cooking. After completing culinary school, he went to work in the Michelin-starred Ristorante Il Buco in Sorrento, Italy under Chef Giuseppe Aversa and the Michelin 2-star restaurant, Don Alfonso 1890. While in Europe David took advantage of opportunities to work with Chef Giorgio Locatelli at Locanda Locatelli, and Chef Mikael Jonsson at Hedone. Both restaurants are located in London, England and have each earned a Michelin star. David also spent time in Paris, France studying pastries at L’Ecole Lenôtre, an acclaimed culinary arts school.
Chef David specializes in Japanese A5 Wagyu beef and is one of 13 people in the United States certified by the Japanese government to use and fabricate it. He is also the only person in Arizona to hold a true Kobe beef certification from the Japanese government, meaning he is the only chef in Arizona who can buy, sell, and use true Kobe beef from Japan. Chef David is currently participating in a Japanese A5 Wagyu World Tour that will take him all over the USA, Canada, Mexico, and Europe.
Chef David recently set a Guinness Book world record with Around the World In 10,000 Bites, the first ever 101-course dinner. The dinner, held at the Houston Museum of Natural Science, was dubbed “the culinary event of the decade” by Forbes magazine and featured 40 world-renowned chefs representing 10 different countries.
Chef David's other passion is helping those less fortunate. He runs a charity that provides support to Arizona's Fallen Heroes in law enforcement and the fire service. He also provides meals for the homeless at local parks, on the streets, and churches as often as he is able.
