Join us for HackHBCU, an annual hackathon event that brings together students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to showcase their skills and creativity through emerging technology. Sponsored by Architect Industries Inc., founded by Stevens Cadet (UDC Alum and Firebird).

HackHBCU provides a platform for HBCU students to immerse themselves in the growing space of Artificial Intelligence through machine learning models and virtual world platforms. Learning new skillsets and problem solving abilities that will make you better equipped for opportunities and growth within these emerging industries

This year, Spatial IO has added an extra incentive for participants by offering a Creator Toolkit to all those who sign up with their student email. The introductory event will begin on March 13th from 6pm to 8pm Est at the Student Center Ballroom at The University of the District of Columbia. This will be interactive meet and greet and discussion surrounding the Hackathon, FAQs, etc. Team Briefing and Challenge announcement event.

March 17th from 6pm to 9pm Est, teams will present their submissions and winners will be announced. Refreshments will be provided for all participants.

Prizes will be awarded to teams that excel in the three challenges: "Best interactive space", "Best game/quest" and "Best custom avatar" all done on the Spatial platform.

Challenges:
Challenge #1: Best "Ready Player Me Avatar" (Beginner)
Challenge #2: Best "Spatial Environment" (Intermediate)
Challenge #3: Best "Custom Spatial Environment" (Expert)
