Open Doors 

The mission of Open Doors is to provide safe shelter for the unhoused, as well as compassionate support and access to services for all in the Harrisonburg-Rockingham community. Since 2007, Open Doors has been the area's trusted provider of low-barrier shelter for the unhoused and support services.

Our Community Place 

Our Community Place is a community and resource center for the unhoused of Harrisonburg. Their mission is to build a safe, loving community of restoration and hope for all, especially those facing homelessness and other adverse experiences.

Healthcare for the Homeless Suitcase Clinic 

The Healthcare for the Homeless Suitcase Clinic (Suitcase Clinic) was established in 2012 with a mission to improve the health and wellness of the local unhoused population. In the homeless community, medical concerns are often untreated due to a lack of trust, proximity, health insurance, transportation and the resources needed to navigate the healthcare system. By taking compassionate and trauma informed medical care directly to homeless shelters, the Suitcase Clinic helps patients circumvent these barriers so their medical needs can be more easily addressed.

JMU Physician Assistant Student Society

The JMU Physician Assistant Student Society (PASS) is a unique, non-profit student-run organization for Physician Assistant students. This coalition of members is dedicated to university, civic and community engagement through service oriented volunteerism and outreach. The organization emphasizes the promotion the PA profession, professional development, mental health and wellness, and education opportunities for members and upcoming generations of PA students and future healthcare providers.
