OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
• Describe the diagnostic approach and management of type 1 and type 2 diabetes in primary care.
• Assess and identify pertinent clinical, medical history, physical examination and laboratory findings to evaluate children with poor growth.
• Recognize new therapeutic interventions in children with growth disorders.
• Accurately screen newborns and children for congenital or acquired hypothyroidism as well as hyperthyroidism and accurately interpret thyroid function tests.
• Review typical development and describe the clinical presentation, etiologies, and initial work-ups for precocious and delayed puberty.
