Anxiety gripped her as she walked into the clinic, sensing her fear, our nurse led Carissa through the appointment with Warmth and compassion. When it came time for the ultrasound, the room was silent until a steady thump-thump, thump-thump filled the air. Carissa’s breath caught and tears streamed down her face. That was her baby. Real.
