We are so sorry to have to cancel the Homestead Heritage Festival at Simple Gifts Farmstead on Saturday, May 18th from 9am-6pm!

Hopefully, there will be a time in the future when we can host this event.

We want to offer an up close and personal experience so folks can see the skills that Homesteaders of yesteryear used and that many today still use to create a Lifestyle that is Simple, Wholesome, Natural, Sustainable, and Resilient.

It will be a day filled with Great Music, Great Food, Great Experiences, and opportunities to learn how to incorporate some of these Old-fashioned, but Timeless, Values into everyday life!

We are looking for Farmers, Home Keepers, Small Business Owners, Craftsmen and women, Artisans, Livestock Tenders, and more who are interested in sharing their trades, their talents, and their products with the community! We want to present and curate the Best-of-the-Best! We are specifically looking for those who can demonstrate the processes of Soap Making, Candle Dipping, Blacksmithing, Wood Turning, Carving, Sheep Shearing, Butter Churning, Cow/Goat Milking, Chicken & Rabbit Butchering, Tallow/Lard Rendering, Herbal Remedy Making, Quilting/Sewing, Tin Works, or any other skill that is fitting. If you are one of those folks, please fill out the form for Demonstration Vendors to let us know how you believe you can contribute to this experience.

There will be a Stage for Live Music (Bluegrass or Old Time genre - Family Friendly / Christian), and we're looking for Performers who will fill 2-hour slots (or less if needed) and have the ability to sell their merchandise or book other shows. If you or your band is interested, please fill out the form for Stage Performers.

We will have an area for those who have products to sell that compliment the Homestead Lifestyle but are not interested in or are not conducive to Demonstration. These are Small Businesses or just Hobbyists who create items to sell. Again, we'd like to curate the Best-of-the-Best, so we ask that you fill of the form for General Vendors to tell us about yourself, your business, and what you would like to sell. Everything MUST fall into the Family Friendly category, and an application does not guarantee approval. We reserve the right to deny individual products that do not represent our family's/farm's Christian values on Festival Day.

Another feature of the Homestead Heritage Festival will be the Small Livestock Swap! Do you have Chickens, Chicks, Rabbits, Guineas, Goats, Piglets, Lambs, LGD's or something else you'd like to sell or swap? Maybe you have extra Pens, Feeders, Waterers, or Pet Toys! Each Small Livestock Vendor will be asked to provide their own Shade (tent), Water, Enclosure, Sales Container, and each assumes COMPLETE RESPONSIBILITY for the health and wellbeing of their animals while on our farm property. To apply, fill out the form to be a Small Livestock Vendor, and let us know what you'd like to sell.

To apply to be a Food Vendor, fill out the form, and be sure to include the appropriate and necessary information that Frederick County and the state of Virginia require. We'd love to have a variety of high quality food offerings for our attendees!

Finally, there will be a Young Entrepreneurs section at the Festival. We want to encourage our 14 & Under Friends to participate and provide an opportunity for them to share their skills, animals, or products with the community. To apply, fill out the form for Young Entrepreneurs, and tell us about yourself and what you plan to present.

We couldn't do any of this without a supportive community and Friends of the Farm! With that, we need Sponsors who would be willing to give toward the costs of Restroom Facilities to accommodate the large crowd we are anticipating and for some miscellaneous printing/advertising to get the word out about this timely and relevant event. If you or your business would like to Sponsor the Festival, click the Donation button at the end of the Application or send a check to
