Mike Arpey
PRESIDENT,

Mr. Arpey is the President of Hunter Point Capital. Prior to joining HPC, Mr. Arpey served as Global Head of Investor Relations at The Carlyle Group (“Carlyle”) where, over the course of ten years, he built and operated the Investor Relations team on a global scale. Under his leadership, this team raised over $200 billion through continuous capital raising for funds and separately managed accounts across asset classes, including numerous first-time strategies. Before Carlyle, Mr. Arpey spent a decade at Credit Suisse as Co-Head and Founder of the Customized Fund Investment Group (“CFIG”), Credit Suisse’s $27 billion private equity fund-of-funds group. Mr. Arpey earned his B.A. from St. Lawrence University and his J.D. from the Dickinson School of Law.
Melvin Hibberd

Mr. Hibberd is a Managing Director and serves as Chief Investment Officer at Hunter Point Capital. Prior to joining HPC, Mr. Hibberd served as a Managing Director and Member of the Investment Committee within The Blackstone Group’s (“Blackstone”) GP stakes business, Strategic Capital Holdings. During his seven years at Blackstone, Mr. Hibberd facilitated key transactions and was responsible for deal team coordination, due diligence, term negotiation, and execution. He also supported the Group’s origination effort, helping to source proprietary investment opportunities for the firm. Prior to Blackstone, Mr. Hibberd was an Associate in KKR & Co.’s North American Private Equity Group and an Associate in Goldman Sachs’ Global Natural Resources Group. Mr. Hibberd earned his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and his degree in Engineering from Cambridge University.
Akira Takahashi
MANAGING DIRECTOR, HEAD OF JAPAN, HUNTER POINT CAPITAL
Mr. Takahashi is a Managing Director and serves as the Head of Japan. Prior to working with HPC, Mr. Takahashi was the Head of Credit Suisse Asset Management (“CSAM") Japan, where he built the Japan business, which became one of the most active distributors of alternative products, including Bank Loan/CLO, Private Equity, Private Credit, and Infrastructure, for both in-house and outside GPs in the Japanese market. He also assumed various leadership roles at CSAM, including Head of Institutional Client Coverage for the APAC region, Member of CSAM Global Distribution, and APAC Management Committee. Prior to his role at CSAM, Mr. Takahashi served in roles at Barclays Capital Japan and Credit Lyonnais Japan. Mr. Takahashi started his career at Japanese Trust Bank, where over the course of a decade, he created the Belgium banking subsidiary and division. Mr. Takahashi earned his degree from the School of Education at Waseda University.
Gunnar Sveen

Mr. Sveen is a Vice President on the Investment Team at Hunter Point Capital. Prior to joining HPC, Mr. Sveen served in the Financial Institutions Group at Nomura Securities, where he worked on a variety of M&A advisory and capital raising assignments in the Asset Management industry. Mr. Sveen earned his B.S. in Finance, magna cum laude, from Babson College. 

Morgan Starr

Ms. Starr is an Associate on the Capital Formation Team at Hunter Point Capital. Prior to joining HPC, Ms. Starr was an Associate at Indus Capital Partners, an Asia Pacific equities investment management firm, where she worked on the Client Advisory Team supporting the firm's fundraising efforts. Previously, she worked on the Investor Relations and Business Development Team at Whitehaven Asset Management. Ms. Starr is a member of the New York Junior League. She earned her B.A. with honors from The University of Texas at Austin.
