Dr. Brian Thomas
Research Scientist, ICR
Dr. Brian Thomas received a master's in biotechnology in 1999 from Stephen F. Austin State University, Nacogdoches, Texas, and a Ph.D. in paleobiochemistry in 2019 from the University of Liverpool. He taught junior high, high school, and college at Dallas-area schools and universities. In 2008 Dr. Thomas joined the Institute for Creation Research as a science writer and editor, contributing news and magazine articles, speaking on creation issues, and researching original tissue fossils. He was appointed Research Scientist in 2021.
Dr. Jeff Tomkins
Research Scientist, ICR
Dr. Jeffrey Tomkins earned a master’s degree in plant science in 1990 and a Ph.D. in genetics from Clemson University in 1996. After receiving his doctorate, he worked at a genomics institute and joined the faculty in the department of Genetics and Biochemistry at Clemson where he worked for 12 years. He had originally become a Christian as an undergraduate in 1982 at Washington State University, with a goal to eventually work as a scientist and author in the creation science field. Dr. Tomkins joined the Institute for Creation Research as Research Associate in 2009 and now serves as a Research Scientist.
Dr. Jake Hebert
Research Scientist, ICR
As a Ph.D. physicist, Dr. Hebert has devoted his life to creation research, and has studied cosmology and evidence of design of our universe.
Dr. Hebert has contributed to ICR's "The Universe God's Grand Design" DVD series, the "Guide to the Universe" book, and planetarium shows at the ICR Discovery Center.

Dave Napier has been speaking on creation for over 10 years in churches, conferences, youth groups, and more. He is an international speaker and founded the Central Texas Creation Conference to share the evidence of God’s Word in the Austin, Texas area. Dave joined the Institute for Creation Research in 2022 and now serves as an Event Coordinator and Speaker.

Miss Steele is ICR's Children Education Specialist, and oversees Kids on Mission - ICR's children's program that combines in person classes at events with adventures and activities, and online learning.

Living to 900 - Dr. Jake Hebert
The Bible plainly affirms that people in both the pre-Flood and immediate post-Flood worlds routinely attained ages of hundreds of years. Other ancient historians have corroborated the Bible’s claim in this regard. Moreover, unless this longevity was supernatural, it seems that animals also would have experienced much greater longevity, because it is difficult to conceive of a natural cause for greater longevity (fewer harmful mutations, abundant food, different atmospheric composition, etc.) that would not also have affected the animal kingdom. Growth bands in fossil oysters and clams show direct evidence of greater longevity than in their living descendants. Moreover, longevity studies in living animals have shown that giantism and delayed maturation are often associated with greater longevity, and there is abundant evidence for both in the fossils.

Evolutionary scientists say human DNA is 98 to 99% similar to chimpanzee DNA, and they claim this is evidence for human evolution. But is it true? Dr. Tomkins debunks this popular myth and reveals evolution-refuting evidence from his five-plus years of intensive study directly comparing human and chimpanzee DNA. The evidence clearly shows that humans are not descended from apes. Instead, we are fearfully and wonderfully created in God’s image just as Genesis proclaims.

Breakout 2: Languages of the Genome - Dr. Jeff Tomkins (Expert Audience)
Many people think the letters of DNA in the genome are like text in a simple written book, but nothing could be further from the truth. Dr. Tomkins uncovers the unimaginable complexity of DNA and the many different languages and codes that are embedded within it. Only an omnipotent and all-wise Creator could be the source of its origin.
Youth: To Live and To Explore - Mr. Dave Napier
In this presentation, Mr. Napier looks at the earth, moon, and sun. Each are inexplicably linked to our survival, our enjoyment, and our worship of the God of the Bible. The audience will walk away understanding that Jesus, our Creator, has given us a beautiful world to live in, and explore. We will never tire of this amazing home we have been given.

Breakout 3: Diversity of Life, Biblical Kinds, and Adaptation - Dr. Jeff Tomkins (General Audience)
Learn how the diversity of life we see on earth and in the fossil record fits with the creation model of Biblical kinds and debunks evolution. Also learn how neo-Darwinian evolution is a failed model for explaining creature diversity and and how creatures have amazing built-in systems of adaptation that allow them to track their environments and adapt accordingly.
Breakout 4: Remnants of the Ice Age: Why Ice Cores Don’t Prove an Old Earth - Dr. Jake Hebert (Expert Audience)
Some see the deep ice cores of Antarctica and Greenland as unanswerable arguments for an old Earth, as the bottoms of the ice cores have been assigned ages of hundreds of thousands of years, supposedly by ‘simple’ counting of annual layer patterns in the ice. Dr. Jake Hebert explains why counting of annual layers in Greenland ice cores is much more difficult than most people realize. He also explains how the deep Antarctic ice cores are dated by theoretical mathematical models, models which implicitly assume “millions of years” and are calibrated by the secular astronomical (Milankovitch) ice age theory, evidence for which is extremely shaky, even by typical old-Earth reckoning. Moreover, there is strong evidence that mainstream ice core age assignments are greatly inflated, and the Bible provides a much better explanation for the Ice Age than the astronomical theory.

In this talk, Dave exposes the evolutionary ideas that have become strongholds within the creation community.

Youth: It Just Doesn't Take Millions of Years - Mr. Dave Napier
This talk is excellent for changing people's perspective on the age of the earth. Dave systematically goes through the icons of evolution and shows that science, long ago, proved that they don't take millions of years. The truth is, you just need the right materials and the right environment. The Global Flood, documented in Genesis, gives us both. Evidence from sediment layers, fossils, diamonds, oil, and coal, all squash the old argument that the Earth’s geological features are millions of years old.
Children: The Creator of the Stars Created Me - Miss Emily Steele
From the galaxies in the heavens to all that is on the earth below, the “invisible attributes of God” are displayed by His creation. Gaze in wonder at the character and nature of our infinitely wise and vast God. Yet, this infinite God is also intimately acquainted with each of us. In light of all these truths, beauty, and wisdom on display, what should our response as image-bearers of God be?
