Before you judge walk a mile in someone else's shoes. Do you understand what it means to live in poverty in Southern Idaho? Could you handle the stress of day-to-day life without "enough?"

In 2020 42.31 million people in the United States were living in poverty according to the U.S. Census. In Idaho alone there were 205,676 people in poverty.

The Region 4 Homeless Coalition is hosting a free training event to help build awareness about the struggles of community members who are living in poverty. People who are in poverty do not choose to be there. It's not because they can't hold down a job, or they don't want to succeed. Many times it's because life happens and they fall into a downward spiral financially. There are services and resources to help people but how easy is it to access and utilize those resources?

The Poverty Simulation is an interactive opportunity to experience first hand the day-to-day struggles of people trying to get out of that spiral. This event is free but registration is limited to the first 80 people to sign up.
