Ikigai Summit is the world's first in-person event dedicated to IKIGAI, a Japanese concept interpreted as "your reason for being," and scientifically proven to improve longevity, creativity, productivity, and happiness.

The one-day cross-cultural gathering will deliver a unique range of content, experiences, and connections. The Ikigai Summit will showcase the very best in modern insights and practical application to personal and professional life.

An optional add-on package, Ikigai Experiences, offers a unique opportunity to extend knowledge and application of ikigai. The add-on package includes a ticket to the Ikigai Experiences Happy Hour. Two Ikigai Experiences to choose from:

Dr Tim Lomas. one of the world's leading researcher scientists on well-being and positive psychology, will share the evolving body of evidence demonstrating the importance of cross-cultural insights to expanding our understanding of happiness and human flourishing.

Dr Lomas will provide perspective on the recently published research, "Wellbeing for All: Incorporating Harmonic Principles of Wellbeing in Subjective Wellbeing Research and Policymaking," a collaboration between Gallup and the Wellbeing for Planet Earth Foundation, a Tokyo-based organization.

Ikigai Experiences Track 2:  Japanese Mindfulness Experiences ($99)

Part 1: Shinrin Yoku | Japanese Forest Bath with Tina Guldhammer Frei
Inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku, or “Forest Bathing,” this session is designed to help you slow down, drop into your senses and connect to the natural world in a deeply restorative way. You’ll be introduced to core nature-connection practices that cultivate presence and awareness. Includes a “forest tea” ceremony.
Part 2: Ikebana | Japanese Art of Flower Arrangement with Akemi Sagawa
Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement has a history of over 600 years. In the pursuit of a deeper understanding of Ikebana, many different schools have evolved. This introductory session is designed to give you an opportunity to learn the basics of Sogetsu School of Ikebana, one of the most widely known.  You will learn the basic rules and techniques for composing the Ikebana structure, as well as learning how to use basic tools such as Ikebana scissors.  

Ikebana arrangement is a valuable experience through which you immerse yourself in the process of creating something beautiful. We will provide everything you need, including flower materials, a pair of scissors, and a small container.  Participants get to take home their creation to enjoy it.
