Dr Lomas will provide perspective on "Wellbeing for All: Incorporating Harmonic Principles of Wellbeing in Subjective Wellbeing Research and Policymaking," a collaboration between Gallup and the Wellbeing for Planet Earth Foundation, a Tokyo-based organization.

Ikigai Experiences Track 2:  Japanese Mindfulness Experiences ($99)

Part 1: Shinrin Yoku | Japanese Forest Bath with Tina Guldhammer Frei
Inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku, or “Forest Bathing,” this session is designed to help you slow down, drop into your senses and connect to the natural world in a deeply restorative way. You’ll be introduced to core nature-connection practices that cultivate presence and awareness. Includes a “forest tea” ceremony.
Part 2: Ikebana | Japanese Art of Flower Arrangement with Akemi Sagawa
Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement has a history of over 600 years. In the pursuit of a deeper understanding of Ikebana, many different schools have evolved. This introductory session is designed to give you an opportunity to learn the basics of Sogetsu School of Ikebana, one of the most widely known.  You will learn the basic rules and techniques for composing the Ikebana structure, as well as learning how to use basic tools such as Ikebana scissors.  

Ikebana arrangement is a valuable experience through which you immerse yourself in the process of creating something beautiful. We will provide everything you need, including flower materials, a pair of scissors, and a small container.  Participants get to take home their creation to enjoy it.
