Learning Objectives:
- Learn the fundamental concepts of implant restorative planning and abutment selection.
- Identify when & how to take advantage of these techniques with case examples.
- Understand implant-level and abutment-level workflows.
- Learn the impression techniques for single and multiple units from conventional to digital.
- Take an in-depth dive into the Straumann abutment/prosthetic portfolios and how to utilize AHA and digital workflows to improve efficiency and optimize restorative outcomes.
- Discuss different ways to produce temporary restorations and custom healing abutments, as well as introducing the new scannable anatomic healing abutments (AHAs) available within the Straumann iExcel line.
- Hands-on experience: Apply these topics at a hands-on AHA scanning station with the Sirios X3 scanner. This provides an opportunity for participants to reinforce the topics & techniques on models at the event.

Dr. Amir Fakhrzadeh
Periodontics & Implants
Dr. Amir Fakhrzadeh, Sr. Manager of Clinical Education, DSO NAM, for the Straumann Group. is a board-certified Periodontist with clinical research expertise in implantology and regenerative dental biomaterials in both academic and private practice settings. He received his DMD degree from the Boston University School of Dental Medicine. Then went on to compete a NIH T32 postdoctoral research fellowship in Regenerative Medicine at the New Jersey Center for Biomaterials. He completed his clinical specialty training in Periodontics & Implant Surgery as well as a M.S. in Biomedical Science at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine and New Jersey Medical School, respectively. His clinical, academic, and research interests are focused primarily on translational research, clinical education, and clinical implementation of dental implant therapy and implantable biomaterials.
