Paul Mattingly
Paul Mattingly has been improvising for three decades.

His credits include The Second City Mainstage at the Flamingo in Las Vegas, 50 Shades, the Musical Parody,(Christian Grey), Tony and Tina’s Wedding, and Star Trek the Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton.

He is currently co-host of Matt and Mattingly’s Ice Cream Social podcast with his comedy improv partner Matt Donnelly.

What Am i Thinking
A "mind reading" game about listening that is secretly more about learning to be comfortable with eye contact
Pass A Clap
An exercise in energy exchange, focus and concentration.
Yes Cross
A game of focus, best options, speaking without words and ultimately, empathy.
Red Ball
How much information can you juggle simultaneously? How do you secure attention and clearly communicate information to your fellow players?
Pattern Game
learning to connect disparate thoughts and find patterns. Learning to see those connections and recognize our own thought patterns as well. (15 minute break)
Emo Sit
Communication through body language. What information can we interpret, what information do we convey and how to be clear with our physicality.
Yes And Stories
Building on one of the founding principles of improvisation we find the strength in agreement and play with the ideas of heightening and exploration.
Bend Your Ear
A game of listening where we learn the importance of focus as well as how to make certain information in conveyed with emotional context so as to be more impactful and memorable.
Great Brain
A game about listening and serving the story.
Gibberish Interview
An example of demonstrating that how you say something is often more important than what you say. What is the truth under our words?(15 minute break)
Who What Where Scenes
Baby step improvisation that focuses on being concise and conveying specific information early and clearly.
Object Into Point Of View
Using metaphor to quickly decide on a point of view to filter your responses through.
Character Interviews
A broader point of view exercise designed to make responses more easily accessible and instantaneous.
How Did You Become “Blank”
Combining Character with real world experiences to generate authentic feeling responses in conversation.
