sweethearts club invites visiting INDEX:Records sweeties XENIA REAPER and Conna Haraway and local Purelink member, Millia, on Friday, October 18th for a special evening of live, experimental, atmospheric, lush, percussive and dub-driven sounds.
XENIA REAPER plays a beautiful, lush ambient mind-melting live set with deconstructed rhythms and a sinewy framework of drum and bass errata, with Conna Haraway continuing with a symphonic, dubient live set with low-end melodic mesh, woven into field-recordings and organic granular synthesis. Conna Haraway is a DJ/sound artist based in Glasgow, U.K. and founder of labels INDEX:Records and co:clear. Having played shows across Europe, Asia and the USA, he melds a myriad of influences into amorphous soundscapes that traverse IDM, experimental-electronica and UK-styled bass/breaks.
The night is rounded out with a DJ set from Millia. As a member of the acclaimed trio Purelink, the Brooklyn-by-way-of-Chicago DJ and producer Millia has established a sound that floats between percussive dancefloor stompers and ambient atmospheres. He seamlessly blends dub, downtempo, bass and more to soundtrack moments on and off the dancefloor. sweethearts club organizer Mengze opens up the evening with shimmery, atmospheric sounds across genres.
