Indigenous Online Campaign School
Join Equal Voice’s Indigenous Online Campaign School from wherever you are in Canada!

This program is designed to equip Indigenous women, Two Spirit and gender-diverse individuals with the skills, knowledge, and resources they need to run for political office in Canada – This includes municipal, provincial, federal and Indigenous leadership elections. Equal Voice is a multi-partisan organization and this program will provide the opportunity to hear from elected officials and experts from all political parties and spheres.

This program consists of 5 online sessions including a mix of group exercises, guest speakers, and networking opportunities with other Indigenous leaders from across Canada.

Each session is approximately 2 hours for a total of 10 hours of learning over 5 weeks. Participants will receive a comprehensive workbook to guide them through the sessions.

This 5-session program costs $150 and bursaries are available.

Session 1: Before the Ballot
Sunday October 5, 12-2pm ET
Explore your "why", understand where you fit on the political spectrum and learn about the things you need to do before you announce your run. We will also talk about the nomination process and how one logistically gets their name on a ballot.

Session 2: Mobilize Your Team
Sunday October 19, 12-2pm ET
Learn about different campaign team roles, traits and skills to look for, as well as tips on how to recruit/retain volunteers.

Session 3: Raise Your Profile
Sunday October 26, 12-2pm ET
Strategies on how to build your overall network and canvassing for votes.

Session 4: Media & Mass Communications Confidence
Sunday November 2, 12-2pm ET
Define your brand, reach larger audiences, and gain confidence with public speaking and media interviews.

Session 5: Campaign Fundraising & Budgeting
Sunday November 9, 12-2pm ET

Program Cost:
  • The program fee is $150. Don't let cost be a barrier - Financial assistance, as well as childcare subsidies are available upon request! No questions asked. Please indicate interest for these items in the program registration form.

  • FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
    We know money can be tight sometimes — especially in this economy — but it shouldn’t stop you from exploring your political aspirations or curiosity. We believe in removing barriers that prevent women from accessing education and professional development opportunities. If you need financial support to attend campaign school, we can help. We offer financial assistance through a reduced course rate, plus travel and childcare subsidies if needed.
    We will be reviewing scholarship applications for the Campaign Schools on a need basis, with limited spaces available. When registering, please select “Attendee – Scholarship” and complete the form questions by October 21, 2025.
  • Please note that completing the form does not guarantee enrollment. We will contact you directly to confirm if you qualify for a scholarship or subsidy to attend.

Kluane Adamek
Kluane Adamek is a proud citizen of Kluane First Nation and has served as the Assembly of First Nations (AFN)  Yukon Regional Chief since 2018.

As Regional Chief, Kluane consistently presses for change in the ways that women, young people, and the next generation are included and empowered in decision-making forums, and she is committed to approaching her own leadership journey in a way that reflects her inner-most values as a Yukon First Nation woman. Kluane is deeply committed to advancing the interests of the 14 Yukon First Nations and works closely with Chiefs and citizens to advance their priorities and interests, both regionally and nationally.

She has proven experience in both the private and public sectors, and in Government. While pursuing her Jane Glassco Northern Fellowship with the Walter and Duncan Gordon Charitable Foundation, she led and founded “Our Voices,” a collective of northern Indigenous emerging leaders and is incredibly passionate about supporting youth and emerging leaders in the North and beyond.

With over 18 of experience, Nadine is a trusted advisor and strategist on Indigenous procurement, benefit plans, and rights-holder engagement.
Tania Cameron
CEO Wiigwas Elder Care & Campaign Manager 
Tania Cameron is Anishinaabekwe from Niisaachewan First Nation in Treaty #3. First elected to band council at 19, she has since built a career dedicated to Indigenous political participation, voter rights, and electoral engagement.
Racelle Kooy
External Relations Strategist
Racelle Kooy is a member of Samahquam First Nation with strong family ties to Stswecem’c Xgat’tem.  She served as the bilingual co-chair for the Assembly of First Nations, and as lead facilitator for a number of federal ministers.
Yvonne Jones
Former mp, representing labrador
Yvonne Jones was first elected as the Member of Parliament for Labrador in 2013. 
Before entering federal politics, Ms. Jones served as mayor of her hometown, Mary’s Harbour, from 1991 to 1996, and as a member of the House of Assembly of Newfoundland and Labrador for Cartwright-L’anse au Clair from 1996 to 2013.

Deliah Bernard

Deliah Bernard is a partner at Roots Strategies- an Indigenous-owned national Indigenous Affairs agency. She is a seasoned advisor on Indigenous Affairs at both the national and local levels, most recently serving as the Senior Indigenous Affairs Advisor to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
