Jade's Background
Or some of it at least...
I started playing music at a very young age (and by young I mean I knew every word to "American Pie" by Don Mclean by the time I was 3) with my late father Wetzel B. Robertson Jr. I very quickly found a passion for instruments and most of all, singing. With influences from Janis Joplin's rasp, Jim Morrison's poetry and of course my daddy's guitar playing, I stepped away from school choir, orchestra, band and worship leading and started playing covers and some originals for the public individually at around the age of 15. Open mics soon turned into Daddy Daughter Duo (or 3D as he would say) gigs in the Hanover area on a regular basis. When my dad passed away in January of 2022, I thought I had lost my love for music that had been instilled in me at a very young age, I didn't want to do it alone. Even the thought of getting on stage without him was terrifying, I always looked for him in the crowd. My fear went away when Ryan came back into my life. He and I met in 2019 at an open mic in Hanover and stayed in touch throughout the years, when we reconnected, Ryan encouraged me to find my love for music again and when I played next to him, it was so comforting that all of the drive and passion I had for playing the guitar or ukulele and singing all came rushing back to me. Ryan always says "You were made to pursue music, I see it every time you play" So, here I am. It feels almost like a new found passion, but it's always been there since I was a baby! I am so honored to be back out in the music community not only to honor my father but to also pursue my dream of spreading joy through music.

Ryan's Background
The creator of this project!
I come from a family of drummers - my grandfather, my father, and myself. Music was always something I’d enjoyed in school, but came to me more organically. I began playing drums in bands, collaborating with others and writing punk songs. Later, I’d pick up a guitar and start writing original music myself. I started a solo project, continued drumming for different original and cover acts, and now I freelance with some of my favorite artists in the area. When I heard Jade sing for the first time, it was as if the whole world stopped - she lit up the room, and I was hoping her dad wouldn’t slug me when I tried to talk to her. Lucky for me, he didn’t. We stayed in contact for a few years, and when I quit my job to pursue music full-time, shortly after, she quit hers and we decided to team up. I’m happy and incredibly grateful to be on this journey with Jade. I hope our performances bring you as much joy as it brings us purpose and fulfillment, and we hope to see you soon.
