Please join the Canadian Fallen Heroes Foundation as we work to remember and honour Ottawa's fallen army, air force, and naval men and women. Over 3,000 local individuals have paid the supreme sacrifice to protect our national values, freedoms, and the quality of life we enjoy today. Please help us share their stories and never forget the lives of the fallen.
The VIP evening performance will give attendees the opportunity to join a private cocktail reception to learn more about the Canadian Fallen Heroes Foundation and participate in a Q&A session with Julie Mackey and Dirk van Stralen of Jake's Gift.

About the Canadian Fallen Heroes FoundationThey were more than soldiers, they were sons and daughters, husbands and fathers. They came from all corners of the country, from cities, towns and hamlets that are no longer. Thousands of names are inscribed on cenotaphs from coast to coast. Most were young and many would die before their parents. It is hard to imagine their pain, for them it was not the death of a soldier but of the life that was and was to be. For the past twenty years, The Canadian Fallen Heroes Foundation has partnered with private and public organizations to put a face to the fallen, to share a glimpse into the lives of our soldiers and preserve their memory through memorial. Oak framed and metal art prints have been created for and are on display in over 500 communities and thousands more are recognized here where they can be found by visiting In Memoriam and can be searched by name or by the town they once called home. We are grateful for the opportunity to forever preserve their memory and as a registered charitable organization, would like to thank our many supporters and volunteers for their help with this project.

We can never begin to repay them, but we can remember them, every ONE of them.
About Jake's Gift
Jake’s Gift is a multi-award winning Canadian play about a World War II veteran’s reluctant return to Normandy, France, for the 60th anniversary of the D-Day landings. While revisiting the shores of Juno beach, Jake encounters Isabelle, a precocious 10-year-old from the local village. Isabelle’s inquisitive nature and charm challenge the old soldier to confront some long-ignored ghosts – most notably the war-time death of his eldest brother, Chester, a once promising young musician. At its heart, Jake’s Gift is about the legacy of remembrance and makes personal the story behind one soldier’s grave.
Since 2007, Jake’s Gift has gone on to play at festivals and theatres in over 250 communities across Canada, including International stops to Washington State, the UK and Normandy, France, for the 70th & 73rd Anniversary of D-Day. In June 2019, the company returned to Normandy for the 75th Anniversary of D-Day. They presented performances in both French and English at the Juno Beach Centre, and other communities and venues along the Normandy coast.
