Judges and Volunteers for the Burn series do not need to have any experience to help this event run smoothly! Judges will be assigned to a "zone" of wall where climbers may attempt to complete climbs for points. There will be an in depth judges meeting prior to each portion of the event. If you don't want to compete, being involved can be just as fun! Whether you are a parent, a friend, or just want to see what the event is about, your help would be greatly appreciated!

Judges will be responsible for scoring competitors on their climbs. Climbers will hand their scorecards to judges in whichever zone they would like to climb in. The judge will watch and make sure the climber completes their climb. If they do, the judge will write the completion down on the scorecard. If a competitor does not complete the climb, the judge will mark the fall and return the card to the competitor.

Judges also will be responsible for:
-Calling a climber off the wall if they use holds that aren't marked "on" for their climb.
-Correctly marking each competitors scorecard.
-Notifying event organizers of any issues.
-Keeping the energy high by cheering and encouraging the competitors!
-Running scorecards to the drop box.

Judges should be sure to:
-Be impartial to all competitors.
-Be consistent in their scoring of competitors.
-Be attentive of the climbers in their zone.
-Refrain from sharing beta with any climbers.
