Zenkaikon Workshops with Lady Latham
Come Learn the basics of hand sewing and hand embroidery with Lady Latham.
These skill sets are important tools you can use to create your own cosplays.
Both workshop kits include all supplies needed, a pdf handout, and lifetime access to a private tutorial.
Hand Sewing 101- Drawstring Bag Make 'n' Take
In this workshop, you will learn basic hand-sewing stitches to create or modify your own cosplays. This workshop is designed to introduce the 4 basic stitches (straight stitch, back stitch, blanket stitch, whip stitch).

You will learn basic construction methods and a few different styles of seams and finishing techniques. I will demonstrate how to do the stitches and then you will be able to practice the stitches and create your own drawstring bag.

There is a supply kit with all supplies needed that will be available for $15. It is not mandatory. (If you want to bring your own supplies, you will need a 12” x 24” piece of fabric, a 24” piece of ribbon, sewing needles, pins, and matching thread.

Hand Embroidery 101- Banner Make 'n' Take
In this workshop, you will learn the basics of hand embroidery, so you can use it in your cosplays.

This workshop is designed to introduce you to 4-5 different stitches that can be used, different types of stabilizers, and how to transfer your designs. You’ll learn stitches that you can use to outline and fill out your design. You will have a chance to see the stitches up close, practice the stitches and then create your own banner.

There is a supply kit with all supplies needed that will be available for $15. It is not mandatory. (If you want to bring your own supplies, you will need an 8”- 12” embroidery hoop, a piece of 12” - 14” fabric, a piece of stabilizer, embroidery needles, and embroidery floss.)

Hello!

My name is Lady Latham I am a cosplayer local to Central Pennsylvania. I have been sewing and creating costumes for over 20 years. I have won several awards for my costumes but always strive for improving my skills and abilities.

I am in the process of creating different tutorials to assist new cosplayers to learn new skills and create their own costumes. With my experience, I hope to create inclusive and accessible tutorials for anyone who is interested in learning some of the basics of cosplay and sewing.
