Join us for a creative all-inclusive 4 day/3 night retreat hosted by Fluid Artist Sara Taylor and Billie Gaura. The workshops take place lakeside on Deer Lake in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. You'll stay in a waterfront cabin and you'll attend workshops and gatherings where we will teach you, pamper you, feed you and encourage some genuine relaxation.
The setting is nestled along the east shore of Deer Lake, Washington, surrounded by stunning natural landscapes. Enjoy the view as we cultivate new friendships and make memories to last a lifetime.

Workshop Session #1 :: Intro
In this introductory course, you will be working with multiple colors of pearl basecoat, exploring ways to bring color and composition into your fluid art. The emphasis will be color theory and knowing when and how to use a pallet knife. Sara will demonstrate first and then you will have the opportunity to create two of your own pieces.

Workshop Session #2 :: Intermediate
In this intermediate pearls course, Sara will show you how to use multi colored basecoats offering a tutorial on advanced pallet knife work. This class will focus on color theory and abstract composition. We will experiment with the cloud over pearl technique using high-flow acrylics. She will demonstrate and you will have the opportunity to create two pieces. We will also create an underpainting for tomorrow morning's class.

Workshop Session #3 :: Intermediate 2
In this second Intermediate course, Sara will show you how to use the translucent basecoat to achieve varied results in your pearl paintings. We will start with our underpaintings from Saturday night's class and explore methods to introduce color and composition into your work. She will demonstrate and you will have the opportunity to create two of your own works.

Workshop Session #4 :: Advanced
Sara will show you new ways to use your acrylics and mediums to create abstract art and different pearl effects. Introducing a variety of high-end paints talk about different ways to use them. This is an exciting exploratory class, teaching new ways to use fluid acrylic! She will demonstrate and then you will have the opportunity to create two of your own works.

Bring your paintings from any of the session (or from home), learn how to do dry work to bring your work to the next level. We will focus on embellishment and we will also tie everything up, package and get ready to bring our artwork home.
