SC EMS OB/Neonatal Training
2 Hours total of CEUs in Obstetrics and Neonatal Care
34% of counties in South Carolina have been classified as "Birthing Deserts" by the March of Dimes. This means that there are no birthing centers nor OB/GYN doctors in those counties. The SC Department of Public Health has recognized this gap in maternal health and has created a program to provide training for all EMS agencies in South Carolina.

The training is delivered by professional educators with Prisma Health Simulation Center at no cost to participants or EMS agencies. Training will include working with high-fidelity birthing and neonatal simulators. It is available to all EMS certified personnel in South Carolina for all certification levels. Training will be in 2-hour sessions, each with 1 hour of classroom instruction and 1 hour of hands-on simulation. Each simulation session will have no more than eight (8) attendees separated into 2 groups. All certification levels will participate in all simulation scenarios; there is something for everyone.

Anyone is invited to attend any location, any time. The listed counties are for reference only. You are required to register yourself and manage your time to attend. If you can not attend after you have registered, please respond to the confirmation email so you can be removed so that your spot can be available for others.

We are going to cover topics like: shoulder dystocia, normal delivery, pre-eclampsia, postpartum hemorrhage, and neonatal resuscitation. If you have attended training with the NeoHero Foundation, additional equipment will be made available to you for practice.

Click on the "Register Here" link to sign-up for your selected region. You may want to sort it by dates, there are 15 listed sessions. The following 2-hour session times will be listed for each training day:
7:30am, 9:30am, 10:35am, 1:30pm. and 2:35pm.
