Come and join us for this comprehensive 9 Session 3 Workshop Series that will introduce you to the cultural and historical underpinnings of Swing dance and the Jazz era social dances more broadly. Open to dancers of all levels with no prior experience required, you will learn a new style from the ground up! If you have previous experience in ballroom and Latin, you will be encouraged to compare and contrast with your existing experience and understanding to enhance your skills.
Each workshop builds on the previous week, the most benefit is to be had attending all 9 sessions as each theme builds upon the previous, however, we have structured it so you can attend all 3 workshops, just 2 or even a single workshop of 3 sessions, if that is all you can fit in.
All workshops will focus on rhythm, levelling movement technique, African American dance posture, an approach and understanding of how to dance to Jazz Era music and a bit about the history, dancers and styles of Lindy Hop.
