Join perth's emerging innovators at the long mile hack pitch night
As part of West Tech Fest 2021, CERI has invited young technologists, designers, business strategists and creative Innovators to solve real-world challenges in partnership with the City of Nedlands.
CERI has teamed up with the City of Nedlands to identify three core challenges in their strategic development roadmap. Each challenge involves a complex set of problems and requires a unique convergence of disciplines and entrepreneurial thinkers to collaboratively conceptualise creative solutions.
The Long Mile Hack takes place on 2-3 December at CERI and will culminate in a public Pitch Night on 9th December during West Tech Fest.

Long mile hack challenges
01 Activating Space
Choose a site within the City of Nedlands to create an innovative new design or master plan, emphasising sustainability, community participation and ecological preservation. [a short-list of sites and a guided site tour will be provided in advance of the hackathon]
02 Moving off-the-grid
Using an agreed location in Nedlands, design an off-the-grid energy system and cost benefit analysis for this site, employing Innovative technologies for centralised battery storage, sustainable renewable energy sources, and an accelerated pay-back period that increases the potential ROI.
03 nedlands as a smart city
Using data collated from the City of Nedlands, conduct data modelling for an Integrated Transport Strategy to solve traffic congestion in Nedlands. Leverage innovative technologies, such as cellular and Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWAN), to connect and improve infrastructure, efficiency, convenience, and quality of life for residents and visitors.
