'vienna', a new release on Small Forms Records w  FIM Basel Concert March 2023   Hypersurface is a NYC-based trio consisting of Drew Wesely (guitar/objects), Lester St. Louis (cello), and Carlo Costa (percussion).     Hypersurface explores timbral, durational, and formal aspects of improvisation with lenses focused on their instruments' acoustic particularities alongside employing tiles, railroad spikes, ceramic plates and other objects to expand them further. In coming together Carlo, Drew and Lester wanted to create a music that puts emphasis on the erasure of sonic boundaries, embracing the liminal spaces between their instruments, their sounds and the greater sonic environment. Timbre, gesture, duration, particles, layers… a real time tapestry of its own. The trio has given performances throughout the United States and Europe in a diversity of concert settings from clubs to large halls and galleries; with each utilizing the acoustics to follow potent musical pathways.    Kamau Amu Patton is an interdisciplinary artist and educator whose work examines history and culture through engagement with archives, documents, stories, and sites. Patton’s projects are dialogic and take form as expanded field conversations.  http://kamaupatton.com

Autostatic! is a movement heavy, musical performance piece by experimental music maker Lou Tides. The piece is to celebrate the release of their LP of the same name.

Part narrative musical, part club odyssey, the piece moves through the record from top to bottom by way of a sci-fi audio-visual journey. Autostatic! is, in its essence, a ghost story, with each song as its own tale, using fantasy and camp to communicate painful truths.

Featuring musicians Sarah Galdes and Devra Hoff, dancer/choreographer Lena Engelstein, and visuals by Suz Murray and Vanessa Castro.

With support from Concrete Husband.

Lou Tides is a multimedia synth project, with songs that are moody, jagged and raw. Tides released her debut EP and visual mixtape, Infinite Loop, in January 2023. Her newest LP, Autostatic!, came out May 23 on Switch Hit Records. She is also a member of Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory, who released their debut LP of the same name on February 7, 2025 on Jagjaguwar.

Concrete Husband is a NYC-based producer, DJ, composer, and flutist. His forward-thinking dance records— Piel and Pelvic Resonance— on White Owl Records received critical acclaim, with Document hailing him as “redefining avant-garde composition.” A conservatory-trained flutist and composer, Concrete Husband draws on a comprehensive knowledge of musical history to create sonic narratives that shimmer with emotional resonance and surrealist imagination. His DJ sets weave grooves of hypnotic techno to generate moments of psychedelic mania and sensual release. A fixture of the Brooklyn techno scene, Concrete Husband is equally well-known for his virtuosic flute performance, which led to Eartheater inviting him to open for her 2024 European tour. As a composer, he’s scored Dion Lee’s Shanghai Fashion Week show and the flute music for the A24 film Beau is Afraid, among other projects. He plans to release his next full-length album, Aliento, this year as well as three techno EPs.
