1971 was a big year...a moon landing, Disney Land opens, Benny Hill tops the ratings & Arsenal do the double. Add to that my arrival on a wet February Friday.

To celebrate a whirl-wind half century, I wanted to gather together those I love most in the world for some much needed r&r but mainly to say thank you to you all.

Thank you for your friendship, your laughter, your much needed lectures at times....

Without you my life would be a great deal less than it is & I can't think of anything better than kicking back with you in my spiritual home of Crete!

I really hope you can make it...
Gavalochori
Chania, Crete
May 15th - 22nd 2021
Our destination
Gavalochori
Gavalochori is located on the northwest coast of Crete. It sits high on Cape Drapan in the Apokoronas region from where we will have views of the Bay Of Souda to one side and the magical White Mountains to the other.

An ancient settlement with 14 Greek Orthodox churches in and around the village as well as Venetian arches and wells, Roman tombs and an ancient olive oil factory, Gavalochori is a simple place with a couple of tasty tavernas, a delicious bakery and an old school bar where you can knock back a raki or icy Mithos with the local OAPs...Plan to do very little but relax & laugh.
Accomodation
We will be staying together at neighbouring villas Athina & Artemis, high above Gavalochori with fabulous views. This is my treat to you all.

Villa Athina

Villa Artemis

I'd love you all to come for a week but understand if you need to be flexible with dates - just let me know asap what dates work for you.

Flights
Easy Jet and BA fly direct to Chania and the airport is a 40min easy drive from the village. You can also fly to Chania through Athens.

Car Hire
A car is useful if you want to explore the island but maybe we don't all need one & can work out how many we need down the line. Cabs to & from the airport are easily booked.
