NCDCTA will be organizing Part 1 of the L Education Program!
The L Education Program is designed with several goals in mind:
The Program is divided into two parts; each part is made up of three sessions:
Part 1- “A Judge’s Perspective” is open to all USDF Members; this is the educational foundation of the program.

- Provide trainers, instructors, competitors and spectators' insight into the evaluative techniques of judging dressage.
- Prepare and evaluate candidates who wish to pursue entry into the USEF 'r' Judge Training Program.
- Provide continuing education for licensed judges and L graduates.

- Session A is an introduction to judging and biomechanics with Kathy Rowse (November 22/23, 2025)
- Session B is about judging criteria for gaits & paces, movements & figures with Debbie Rodriguez (Feb 28/March 1, 2026)
- Session C is about collective marks, equitation, rider biomechanics and basics with Jodi Lees (May 16/17, 2026)

Overview:
Candidates should be prepared to be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days of the sessions. Leaving more than one
hour before the finish or arriving more than one hour late for the start of the program will negate the candidate’s
attendance and the session will need to be repeated before they can attend the next session. In order to make up an
evaluative session (D1, D2, Final Exam), candidates must find a program that has an opening, which means a
program that has less than 10 participants. The fee for the makeup session is set by the host/organizer of the session.
Registration Requirements:
Participants: All participants must upload the Application Form, Event Participation Agreement Form when purchasing the ticket.
USDF, NC, and Averett Release Forms will need to be signed at the event.
Auditors: All auditors must submit the USDF, NC, and Averett Release Forms will need to be signed at the event.

The cost for a participant is $1,100 (NCDCTA Member) or $1,300 (Non Member) for all 3 sessions. The cost for an auditor is $100 (NCDCTA Member) or $120 (Non Member) per session. All fees must be paid in advance.
Each session is limited to 30 participants and space is expected to fill quickly. Do not delay in getting your application and payment submitted. Auditors should register no later than 1 week before each session. University Credits are included when you pre-register for auditing.
