Who Should Attend:  Newly elected or appointed public officials who are members of governmental bodies

Webinar Description:
Beginning on July 1, 2025, newly elected or appointed public officials who are members of governmental bodies are required to complete a training course regarding the open Meetings and Open Records law within 90 days of taking office.

Although this requirement only applies to newly elected or appointed public officials, the training is open to all public officials.

Ahlers & Cooney has been approved by the Iowa Public Information Board to provide this required training.

A certificate of completion is required to be provided upon completion of the training and registrants must therefore accurately identify those who will be participating in the webinar. If a group will be watching the webinar together, one individual will need to provide a certification regarding the members in attendance.

COST: $25 / per registrant, up to a maximum of $200 for one entity
