2) Recognize the prevalence, risk factors, and unique presentations of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders in fathers/partners.
3) Describe common themes and challenges associated with perinatal couple therapy.
4) Explain evidence-based perinatal family therapy interventions that can promote healing and attachment.
Speaker Bio:
Emily Pyle is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S) with over twelve years of experience in the counseling field. She serves at The Menninger Clinic as the clinical program manager of Menninger 360, the first private adult program for assertive community treatment (PACT) team in Texas as well as the first adolescent assertive community treatment program in the country. Emily specializes in working with adolescents, young adults, and adults who are experiencing relational challenges, mood disorders, anxiety, attachment trauma, and personality disorders. Emily is also passionate about promoting healing and connection in family systems, especially during the perinatal period. Emily has expertise in family therapy from an attachment and emotion-focused perspective; she also possesses specialized perinatal training. Emily has worked with individuals and families of diverse ages, backgrounds, and presenting problems in hospital, school, and community settings. Emily received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Rice University and her master’s degree in counseling from University of Houston.
