A WORLDVIEW CONFERENCE FOR ADULTS AND STUDENTS

For 2,000 years, the Christian faith has been met with resistance. Christians have been opposed, scorned, shunned, marginalized, mocked, persecuted, canceled and even killed. But throughout, faithful followers of Christ overcame. They stood courageously for the truth of the Christian faith…and Christianity changed the world. As a result, those of us who have followed in the 2,000-year history of the church have benefited from unprecedented freedoms and the Faith has flourished.

However, the tide is turning. The culture is shifting. A host of worldview ideas opposed to the Christian faith and values are winning over hearts and minds. And our increasingly secular culture grows in its hostility to Christianity.

So what are Christians to do? Despair and wish for “the good ol’ days?” No. Despair is never an option for those whose hope is in a resurrected Savior. Rather, the New Testament gives us our instructions no matter what cultural context we find ourselves in. The Apostle Paul exhorts us, “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.”

To “stand firm in the faith” we need two things in this cultural moment. First, we must have a knowledge of the TRUTH. We must know what we believe and why we believe it. A shallow faith cannot withstand the constant assault of secular ideas. Truth must be our anchor. Second, we need COURAGE to stand for the truth. We cannot let fear overtake us rather, we must courageously love our neighbors with the truth, goodness and beauty of the Christian worldview. Always.

Truth and courage. Courage and truth. Today, Christians need a good dose of both.

And that’s what you’ll get at the 2025 MAVEN Conference. This worldview conference will equip students and adults to follow Christ faithfully amidst a faithless culture.

Investing in our Youth
In our current cultural landscape, we are seeing record numbers of youth walking away from the faith. But the Lord has not forgotten our young people! it is with this in mind that has led us to invest in our youth by inviting them to attend for free. So, if you are 13-17 years of age, please come as our guest. All we ask is that youth do come with an adult!
If you would like to partner with us by covering the costs of a youth (or anyone for that matter!), donations are welcome!

Session #1- Welcome to the negative world: Confronting Challenges in an Anti-Christian Culture.
Since the mid-20th century, Christianity has been on a trajectory of decline in the United States. Cultural shifts have ushered in a new era where Christian ideal and values are marginalized and even targeted for removal from public life. In this talk Aaron Renn provides a helpful framework for Christians to navigate the cultural and spiritual challenges of our time and explores strategies for living faithfully and positively in what he describes as the “negative world.”

Session #2- Don't Follow Your Heart: Navigating Expressive Individualism and the Authority of Self
Expressive Individualism has infected modern life. Today we are told to be true to ourselves, look within for answers, and follow our hearts. But when we act as the sole source of authority and put our own happiness first, we experience record-breaking levels of loneliness, depression, and anxiety. In this talk, Thaddeus Williams calls on a new generation of mavericks, renegades, and cultural heretics who refuse to march in unison with the self-obsessed herd and points us to a more meaningful life centered on Someone infinitely more satisfying than ourselves.

Session #3- Critical Theory: The Worldview Poisoning Everything
Critical theory is having a profound impact on our culture. Contemporary critical theory's ideas about race, class, gender, identity, and justice have dramatically shaped how people think, act, and view one another, posing a serious threat to both the church and society at large. In this talk, Monique Duson will examine the origins and influences of contemporary critical theory, how it has thoroughly infected culture and expose the false assumptions at the heart of critical theory that stand in stark contrast to biblical truth.

Session #4- Courage Dear Heart: Finding Courage to Engage the Culture
Throughout history, Christians have faced innumerable challenges. The first Christians endured persecution, imprisonment, and even death for spreading the good news of the gospel. Yet, amid their struggle, they continued to expand the kingdom of God—even rejoicing as they suffered for Christ. How can believers exhibit this same courage today? In this talk, Brett Kunkle explores the Christian virtue of courage and offers practical steps to overcome feelings of anxiety, anger, and fear and engage a hostile culture with truth and grace.
