Owing to the success of the past decade, we are looking forward to celebrating with all our current and past members, as well as our friends in the Canterbury GAA circle on the 8th of October 2022.

Christchurch McKennas was the first official club in the Canterbury region established on the 12th February 2012 following the tragic death of our committed clubman Owen McKenna in the Christchurch Quakes. Owen McKenna was a Monaghan native who played a major role in the organisation and revival of GAA in the Canterbury region in the 00’s. The club is named in honour of his passion and dedication.

For the last ten years the club has gone from strength to strength competing in numerous competitions and attracting members from worldwide, this has allowed the club to grow and prosper.
