The Meridian Southern Soul Awards is a committee of radio and music insiders with a desire to recognize the many unsung talents of Southern Soul. The Awards were created in 2020 to honor the talented artist of Southern Soul who are not always recognized for their hard work and talent. We come together for a weekend to show appreciation to the artists, songwriters, producers, DJs, promoters, radio stations, and fans who champion Southern Soul.

Lomax Spaulding simply known as Lomax is an accomplished singer, musician, songwriter, and producer. Lomax has toured with Cameo, Levert, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Rodger & Zapp, Luther Vandross, Shelia E, Keith Sweat, XSCAPE, R. Kelly, and L.L. Cool to name a few. He was a musical guest for the unveiling of the bust of Sojourner Truth in Washington, DC at the US Capital Visitors’ Center. In 2014, Lomax sang a tribute to Nelson Mandela at the Martin Luther King Day Annual Program in Washington DC.
