MOD X Offsite Accelerator is an educational program that includes the delivery of a 4-session online course supported by several hours of highly applicable content illustrating offsite housing context, domestic and international case studies, technology, and delivery. Participants will work closely with the MOD X leadership team and benefit from a worldwide network of offsite industry, academic, government, and related non-profit thought leaders to learn about this highly relevant and timely topic.
The course is designed to help demystify the myriad misperceptions of offsite construction and provides critical information that can be applied to move project strategy forward. Sessions are comprised of a mix of core theory, practical application, and case study examples of projects and companies in the offsite housing industry from the U.S. and around the world. The Offsite Accelerator was developed to address the needs of a broad audience within the construction industry and those entering the sector more recently, and helps participants to strategically anticipate the future of offsite housing in the U.S. to formulate timely business decisions.
MOD X Offsite Accelerator is organized into four (4) one-hour sessions with Q&A delivered online and includes the following topics:
Session 01: Offsite Housing Defined Session 01 presents an introduction to offsite construction including definitions, contextual drivers, and technology classifications of component, panelized, and volumetric systems with relevant examples.
Session 02: Manufacturing Mindset Session 02 reviews the process of design documentation, design for manufacture and assembly (DfMA), modularization and product platforms, and examples of U.S. and international companies utilizing a platform approach to offsite housing.
Session 03: Business of Offsite Session 03 shares contemporary practices of offsite through vertical and horizontal integration, and explores a U.S. model for a collaborative team approach to offsite housing delivery utilized by practitioners today.
