Monica Medina, President and CEO of IUCN Member organization Wildlife Conservation Society, will open a discussion about the relevance of the IUCN Programme to the local, national, and international conservation efforts of US Members.

Monica is the former Assistant Secretary of State for Oceans, Environment, and Science; and Special Envoy for Biodiversity and Water Resources at the U.S. Department of State. She is the first diplomat in the U.S. to have been designated to advocate for global biodiversity.

North America Regional Conservation Forum 2024

As the IUCN Community prepares for the next World Conservation Congress, the North America region will hold a Regional Conservation Forum next year to connect and galvanize our community, discuss our priorities and plan for the outcomes we want in a productive 2025 Congress. Razan Al Mubarak, IUCN President, will open Day 2 of the conference, joining the USNC Annual Meeting virtually from Abu Dhabi.  Razan will focus her remarks on the development of a new 20-year strategic vision for IUCN, as requested by IUCN members through Resolution 147 at the 2021 World Conservation Congress in Marseilles.
