Bring your instrument and join us! This one-day outdoor event draws approximately 50 guest musicians, which combine with our 60-member band to create a mid-summer extravaganza. Our beautiful venue, appreciative audience, and historic community have you coming back every year.
THE VENUEOur bandshell is nestled among the pine trees of the Sierra Nevada mountain foothills. Few performers are lucky enough to play in such a beautiful place! The Nevada County Concert Band has a long tradition of playing outdoor summer concerts in Pioneer Park. Our audiences range from 500-700 people for these traditional small-town gatherings. We provide our own sound system and risers, and a Master of Ceremonies makes the entire audience comfortable. Also, ice cream and hot dog vendors serve food and drinks during the concerts. In addition to the wonderful bandshell, the park also has a children’s play area, baseball diamonds, swimming pool, creek, hiking trails, tennis courts, and more. The
Nevada County Concert Band's annual Pioneer Park Picnic Pops concert series are always FREE, family-friendly, and accessible. Dogs on leashes are also welcome.
THE MUSICThis is our 17th event! The theme is "Going Places," which means both to travel and also to be increasingly successful. Please refer to the band's website
http://nccb.org/ncinvitational.htm for the concert repertoire list.
