OVERVIEW
This one-day conference presented by the National Diabetes and Obesity Research Institute (NDORI) will provide up-to-date reviews in the management of diabetes, obesity, and related conditions. New approaches, guidelines, and care options are constantly evolving with the influences of innovations in research, new medications, therapies, and technologies.
The conference will cover topics such as diabetes and hypoglycemic rescue, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, peripheral artery disease, chronic kidney disease, bariatric management and surgical approaches, and childhood obesity.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Healthcare professionals (including physicians, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, and dietitians), researchers, hospital and corporate administrators, and others who have an interest in the diabetes and obesity-related fields, including endocrinology, family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, psychiatry and psychology, cardiology, bariatric surgery, and wellness.
ACCREDITATION
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the Mississippi State Medical Association and The National Diabetes & Obesity Research Institute. The Mississippi State Medical Association is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Abstract Submissions
Students and residents who have conducted research focused on obesity or diabetes under the mentorship of a faculty member are invited to submit an abstract to the 2nd Annual VJ Canizaro, MD Health Summit that will be held on March 11th, 2022 at Tradition Medical City, Biloxi, MS.
Please submit research conducted over the past year, even if the research has not been submitted to a national meeting. Research that has not yet been published is preferred. However, consideration will be given to research that has been published so long as it has been published only within the few months immediately preceding the Summit.
Selected submissions will be placed in a program booklet for attendees to view and will also be placed on the conference website. The top abstract, as determined by the NDORI Judging Committee, will be offered the opportunity to present their research via an oral presentation at the Summit.
Please submit abstracts to Emily Foret at the National Diabetes and Obesity Research Institute (NDORI) via e-mail at [email protected] by 5 pm by February 11th, 2022. The abstracts that are selected will be notified on Friday, February 25th, 2022.
