Join us for an engaging and informative session with the New Jersey Civic Information Consortium! This event is an excellent opportunity for community members, journalists, and anyone interested in the future of local news to learn more about the Consortium's history, mission, and impact. Whether you have questions about our work, want to understand how we support New Jersey’s news and information ecosystem, or are curious about our grant programs, this is the perfect space to connect and engage. Come learn about our efforts to strengthen local journalism and build a more informed and equitable community.
The Consortium was created by the State of New Jersey in 2018 to spark innovative media projects in communities lacking access to news and information. A first-in-the-nation project, the Consortium builds on the foundation laid by public media in the United States, and reimagines how public funding can be used to address the growing problem of news deserts and misinformation, and to support more informed communities.
Get to know the team driving the mission of the Consortium! Our staff brings together a diverse range of expertise in journalism, community engagement, fundraising, and communications, all united by a shared commitment to strengthening local news and information across the state. Whether working behind the scenes or out in the community, our team is focused on empowering residents with the resources and information they need. We're looking forward to meeting you!
