On-Water Group 1: Pumphouse to Radium
This year, we’re making a bigger impact by splitting volunteers into groups for River Cleanup Day on Saturday, September 27.
No matter which section you help clean, we’ll all come together at Pumphouse — the hub for camping, check-in, and post-cleanup celebrations. Volunteers are welcome to camp all weekend (Friday–Sunday) at Group Sites A & B.
This page is for those signing up for the on-water cleanup from Pumphouse to Radium which is a 4 mile stretch with two Class II rapids, and one Class III (Needle's Eye). You’ll float the river while helping remove micro-trash, leftover charcoal, and dismantle abandoned fire rings.

Note: Participants need to confirm a seat in their own or a friend's boat to participate in the on-water cleanup. If you don't have a boat you can come join us on land to help cleanup trails!

Regardless of what stretch you are running, we will all be camping at Pumphouse.
Camping is free Friday through Sunday and campers can arrive anytime after 1pm on Friday to set up camp at Group Sites A or B.
A Protect Our Rivers team member will be at the entrance to hand you a pass so you can camp and park for free.
Please bring dinner and snacks for Friday evening as you're on your own for dinner!

The main event is on Saturday and we have an early start. Please meet at 8:30 am at the Gazebo at Pumphouse for registration and Bonfire Burritos!
Following registration, we will do a welcome and safety talk before we split into groups for the river cleanup.
For this stretch, you will launch at Pumphouse and take out at Radium River Access and we have a free shuttle you can utilize so your car will be at the takeout when you get off the river.

Protect Our Rivers will host a celebration at Pumphouse after the river cleanup, complete with free beer, from Odell Brewing Co., dinner, and prizes.
We'll hang out, swap stories from the day, and enjoy some music as the sun goes down.
We’ll also have some great giveaways you can win including a RMR Inflatable Kayak, Kokopelli Packraft, LavaBox, gear from Chaco and Cotopaxi, Paco Pads, and more!

Friday you are on your own and we invite you to enjoy the Upper Colorado River with friends and partners. Saturday is the main event and a detailed schedule is below. Please note all of the cleanups will start and end around the same time.
