About Dr. Alyssa Cowan
Alyssa Cowan, PsyD is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and eating disorder specialist. Concurrent to her role in this practice, she also serves as a Clinical Supervisor for licensed clinicians at the Eating Recovery Center in Chicago. Dr. Cowan is a member of the International Academy of Eating Disorder Professionals and is presently completing her credential as a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS). In addition to her expertise in eating disorders, disordered eating patterns and body image issues, Dr. Cowan brings extensive experience in issues such as emerging adulthood, life transitions, interpersonal relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, trauma, and women’s health. Dr. Cowan has worked in a range of settings, including university and college counseling centers, intensive outpatient treatment programs, residential facilities, therapeutic day school, and private practice. She completed her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at Adler University and earned her bachelor’s degree from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Cowan brings a passion for clinical training and supervision in psychology and providing supervision and consultation services to emerging clinicians and early career psychologists.
