days until event:
Do you wish you better understood the finances of Napa County? Do you wonder where the money comes from and where it’s going?   Would you like to be more involved in the process?

Join us at our Town Hall on February 16th to learn more.

Our speaker, Ed Harrington, will demystify our nearly 600-page County budget and talk about how everyday Napans can become more involved in the process.
ABOUT ED HARRINGTON:

Ed Harrington served as the Controller for the City and County of San Francisco from 1991-2008 where he administered a $6.1 billion budget, then acted as General Manager of the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission until his retirement in 2012.

Ed has an intimate understanding of complicated City and County budgets, as well as accounting and auditing practices.  He will discuss key revenue and expense categories in Napa County’s budget, which totals just over $600 million in the current fiscal year.

Attendees will learn how the budget process works, how revenue is generated and how it’s being spent on things like public health, public safety, infrastructure and economic recovery.

Finally, Ed will discuss ways that local residents, like us, can get involved in the budget process, and give voice to their priorities for (or concerns about) spending.
