Ohio Peer Recovery Organizations (OhioPRO) is the statewide advocate for peer organizations and peer recovery supporters. We work to promote the importance of the voices of individuals with a lived experience of mental illness, substance use disorder, or co-occurring disorder and to strengthen the system of investment in recovery supports throughout the state.
OhioPRO’s driving force is its mission, vision, and value statements. Our mission is to strengthen and expand the impact of peer recovery organizations throughout Ohio. We envision Ohioans thriving in their recovery. Our six values—impact, expansion, lived experience, unified voice, hope, and connection—guide us in our goal of making a difference in peer support.
The 2024 Peer Recovery Summit's theme is Peers Faces: Celebrating Resiliency. Peer recovery supporters embody resiliency not only in their personal recovery journeys, but also in their work to help others. That resiliency deserves to be celebrated, and OhioPRO is excited to recognize the many faces of peers who make impactful changes every day.
National and local speakers will lead transformative educational sessions that will provide recovery leaders and peer supporters with new ideas and invigoration to continue to do meaningful work in their communities.
OhioPRO is also excited to debut its mobile application at the 2024 Peer Recovery Summit. The mobile application will connect each of Ohio’s certified peer recovery supporters with one another in a secure platform that will provide access to countless peer-specific resources, including events and employment opportunities.
The mobile application was developed at the direction of a group of passionate certified peer recovery supporters – the Peer Support Advisory Group. OhioPRO is dedicated to supporting the work of peer recovery organizations and supporters, and we are confident that the 2024 Peer Recovery Summit will be another avenue to make a positive impact in Ohio.
