Chronic pain is influenced by many interconnected factors, including inflammation, nervous system sensitization, stress, movement patterns, and overall well-being. This three-part series brings together experts from integrative medicine, neurology, and Chinese medicine to explore evidence-based approaches for managing pain and supporting long-term health. Dr. Tara L. Sharma is a board-certified neurologist and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Washington specializing in sports neurology, chronic headache, and migraine care. She takes a holistic, patient-centered approach, integrating neurological care with pain psychology to help patients manage chronic pain and improve quality of life.

Aiko Bailey is a licensed acupuncturist and teaching associate at the UW Osher Center who specializes in integrative, individualized care using acupuncture and East Asian medicine.
