Honoring Our Fallen
On November 29 from 0630-0730, Engineers across Schofield Barracks will conduct a Workout of the Day (WOD) in remembrance of Engineers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the Indo-Pacific Theater.

This year we are honoring T/4 Billie J. Adams (5202 EN BDE), SGT Tony A. Neeley (84th EN BN), and SPC/5 Edward Ford (65th EN BN) who paid the ultimate sacrifice in defense of freedom.
T/4 Billie J. Adams
5202th Engineer Construction Brigade
Technician Fourth Grade Billie Junior Adams was born and raised in Nebraska. He left his wife, Marjorie Ferguson, to join the Army during World War II. While serving as an Engineer in the Philippines (likely part of the 803rd Engineer Aviation Battalion), he was captured by Japanese forces following the invasion in early 1942. In an unknown manner and at an unknown date, between 1942 and 1945 he gained his freedom and later was assigned to the 5202 Engineer Construction Brigade. As 1944 came to a close, T/4 Adams made preparations to once again visit Luzon, this time as part of the allied Invasion force. On January 12, 1945, three days after landing on the beachhead in Lingayen Gulf, he was killed while constructing a critical heavy pontoon bridge to enable allied forces to breakout and liberate the Philippines.

SGT Tony A. Neely
84th Engineer Construction Battalion
Sergeant Tony A. Neeley was a native of Wood River, Illinois. He joined the Army when he turned 18 and spent 15 months in the South Pacific during WWII. He deployed to Korea with the 84th Engineer Construction Battalion in August, 1950. After stalling the Communist Spring Offensive short of Seoul in May, 1951, I Corps resumed their advance north of the Imjin River. By late 1951, SGT Neeley and the 84th Engineer Battalion were hard at work bridging the brutal Imjin River to secure lines of communication throughout the winter rainy season. On November 13, 1951, SGT Neeley was killed while fighting the enemy.

SP5 Edward Ford
65th Engineer Combat Battalion
Specialist 5 Edward Ford is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. After joining the Army, SP5 Ford was assigned to Company B, 65th Engineer Battalion, 25th Infantry Division. He deployed to the III Corps Tactical Zone in South Vietnam. Throughout 1968, SP5 Ford served as part of a mine sweeping team during the Accelerated Pacification Campaign west of Saigon in the Hua Nghia Province. On December 9, SP5 Ford and his teammate, PFC Leo Goralski, stepped atop a 100 pound enemy mine and were killed.

Army Engineer Regimental Muster
In the broadest terms, the muster is a gathering for service, review, inspection, or roll call. The military muster in the United States dates back to 1637 with the gathering of local militia to be enrolled, answer the roll call, and receive training. LTG Flowers, the 50th Chief of Engineers, established the Army Engineer Regimental Muster program in 2003.

The program directs every US Army Engineer organization to conduct an annual ceremony, collect and maintain a regimental rolls name listing, and issue one-time "Muster Cards" as a permanent record of registration to the regimental rolls.

All Engineers and friends of the regiment will have the opportunity to be entered into the rolls and receive a Muster Card during the Engineer Muster Run and the Pacific Engineer Expo.
