Practical AI for Engineering Courses: Creating Homework and Evaluating Student Learning
Join us on April 22
This workshop provides engineering faculty with straightforward methods to use generative AI in their classes. First, we will demonstrate how to use AI tools to quickly generate new homework sets and exam questions from your existing materials, easily adding complex, real-world variables. Next, we will address how to evaluate student learning now that AI is widely available. Rather than assigning traditional written reports, we will explore hands-on assignment alternatives. You will learn how to design tasks where students must work with AI tools but be fully conscious about their responsibility as future engineers (Responsible Charge). The methods covered will help instructors with their material and help students develop critical engineering judgment.

Lunch for this workshop is sponsored by the Leonhard Center for the Enhancement of Engineering Education.
