Breathwork is the practice of continual, conscious breathing to alleviate stress and boost your mood.

If you're often stressed, frustrated or tired... well, as much as life can be difficult, you've also practiced feeling poorly more than feeling good. Breathwork is a space where you can practice well-being instead.

Breathwork is more effective than meditation.

Studies have shown that 5 minutes of daily breathwork outperforms meditation for improving mood and regulating the nervous system.

Breathwork enhances your personal presence.

During a breathwork session, you'll experience what it is to be present: not worrying about the future, nor regretting the past. Not itching to check emails, nor wondering if Sally in sales meant to give you sass.

With each session, you expand your capacity to calmly respond to challenges. You develop present-moment awareness, and when you live with presence, you also carry presence that impacts others. This is helpful for anyone in leadership.

Bonus benefits include creative breakthroughs, emotional release and overflowing feelings of gratitude.

To touch base with your potential, come practice.

FAQs
#1
What happens in a session?
Presence Practice is a group event hosted on Zoom. Each participant sets their own space to practice at home. Instructions are provided when you sign up, but the event has three parts: (1) Guided journaling; (2) Meditation & breathwork; (3) Integration. For the breathwork portion, you will lie on a flat surface and breathe continuously and consciously in a simple breath pattern for 28-30 minutes. The entire experience will be accompanied by music so that you can relax into your inner experience.
#2
What can I expect to experience?
Every breathwork session is different, but reported experiences include: deep relaxation and meditative experiences, a healthy sense of separateness from your mind, seeing the insignificance of your problems, achieving clarity on decisions, creative inspiration and personal insights, reigniting motivation, feeling powerful, feeling grateful, releasing repressed emotions, tears, recovering memories, feeling pleasure, feeling high. It is breathwork and can feel effortful at first. But you will find your groove and the session will leave you better than it found you.
#3
Can anyone participate?
Breathwork is safe for most people, ages 18+. It is NOT advisable if you have severe asthma, epilepsy, a history of cardiovascular disease or heart attack, high blood pressure, use of prescription blood thinners, glaucoma, schizophrenia, dissociative disorders, bipolar disorder, or history of significant, unprocessed trauma. It is also not advisable during pregnancy.

Some participants experience tension or tingling in their hands, mouths or feet when practicing. This is called tetany and in the context of a breathwork session, is completely safe and often avoidable.

If you are currently in an emotionally fraught time or experiencing severe anxiety, breathwork can be triggering, but I encourage you to attend if you are willing to confront that discomfort in a safe space.

What People Say

"I've been trying to get into meditation/breathwork for a long time with no success. After this session, I understand why this practice is so powerful and why people who regularly meditate recommend it so much. I'm extremely grateful to finally have an experience with meditation (via breathwork) that I'd always hoped for, but was never able to access on my own. Immediately, I felt better, lighter, and more free. I experienced a really wonderful sensation of complete relaxation that I didn't know was possible had it not been for this session. With no exaggeration, my life is better because of what I learned in this session. I genuinely feel like a changed person and I'll take what I learned from this session with me for the rest of my life."

"That was profound. A beautiful experience. I spend so much time in my head, and have spent so many years in therapy. But this opened doorways for me. I normally resent journaling, but I'm glad we did that. I found clarity on my relationships, and I had some profound revelations on life and death. Thank you"

"I NEED more breathwork in my life. I've been stalling and having trouble concentrating, to the point where I was maybe going to start ADHD medication, but I think the breathwork kicked a year of procrastination. I've been on fire this week."
"I'm still thinking about the session from a few days ago. It was so good. I legitimately felt like I was tripping. I was having a dance party in my head. It was wild, and I'm still on a high from it."

"That was incredible! Rachel has an absolute gift for holding space. This breathwork was exactly what I needed right now."

"Breathwork has helped me grow tremendously in the last month. I was full of anxiety and was bottling up a lot of my emotions. Our once a week sessions have helped me realize that it is okay not to feel "GOOD" sometimes, but that we can't let it define us. We have to let go of what is holding us back and we can do that with breath patterns and meditation."
"I'm so relaxed, I feel like I just had a three hour massage."

"I went into a deep meditative state during our session. I saw hues of purple and blue, my body felt light, and it was a beautiful, tranquil experience where I was able to be truly present. I felt relief, happy and content."
"Our session was an absolute game changer in terms of grounding and resetting myself during a very busy season."
