ABSTRACT:  Ideally, public policy supports effective clinical practice, and the experiences of clinicians inform the development of public policy. Case managers can play a key role in providing input to the development and implementation of sound public policy. During this session, attendees will receive an up-to-the-minute report on key policy issues at the state and federal levels.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES: 
  1. Identify current issues in state and federal public policy.
  2. Describe the implications of current policy issues for the practice of case management.
  3. Determine opportunities for advocacy and how case managers can inform policy development.
