Who's Rex?
Born on June 25th, 1956 in Irondequoit, NY, Rex Johnson was a man of unwavering determination, strong work ethic, infectious humor, and a kind heart. Known for his quick wit, contagious laughter, and signature greeting of "Howdy!", Rex's positive outlook never wavered even in the face of mesothelioma cancer. He bravely fought his battle, embodying true resilience, determination, and unwavering courage that left a profound impact on all who crossed his path. Rex's magnetic personality drew people to him, and his presence in our lives was a true blessing. His daughter, Danielle, created Rex Fest to honor his memory, ensuring that his spirit lives on. Rex would undoubtedly want nothing less than for us to celebrate on the bay in his memory, all while supporting a meaningful cause. Rex Johnson's legacy continues to inspire and uplift those who remember him, keeping his spirit alive through the joy and camaraderie of Rex Fest

This year all the proceeds will be donated to the Cancer Support Community of Rochester formally Gilda's Club. Rex Fest has already raised over $50,000 and has also led to the creation of The Rex Lounge, a vital space for teens battling cancer to receive support. We cannot wait to see what it can help support next! Learn more here ⬇️
