Nancy Lavin
Senior Reporter, Rhode Island Current
Nancy Lavin serves as senior reporter for Rhode Island Current, a nonprofit, nonpartisan online news outlet within States Newsroom. A Rhode Island native and University of Rhode Island graduate, Nancy has more than 12 years of experience as a reporter, primarily for print newspapers. Her current role focuses on the intersection of state politics and policy, with an eye on economic, environmental, and health topics. 

She previously worked for more than three years as a banking and finance reporter for Providence Business News, but has also covered religion, social services, demographics, development, and politics for newspapers in Maryland and Rhode Island.

Dwain Carryl
Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager, Bank of America
Dwain Carryl is a Managing Director and Senior Equity Analyst for the Chief Investment Office (CIO) within Bank of America Corporation. In this role, Dwain supports Bank of America Private Bank with analysis of equities in the Financial sector, including banks, insurance companies, asset managers, digital payments, and various specialty finance names. Dwain is co-manager of the CIO-managed Dividend Equity Portfolio investment solution, as well as the Bank of America Private Bank CIO-managed Dividend Income common trust fund.

Dwain earned his Bachelor’s degree from Harvard College and his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Yale University.
Edinaldo Tebaldi
Professor of Economics and Vice President for Strategy and Institutional Effectiveness, Bryant University
Dr. Edinaldo Tebaldi is a Professor of Economics and currently serves as Vice President for Strategy and Institutional Effectiveness at Bryant University. A seasoned strategist, problem solver, and public policy expert, he has extensive experience at the intersection of public policy and higher education. His career includes serving as an economist at the World Bank, as a member of the Council of Economic Advisers to the Governor of Rhode Island, and as a consultant to public and private sector organizations.

Dr. Tebaldi has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed journal articles and co-authored several cross-country studies, including major reports published by the World Bank. His research and policy work have focused on economic growth, labor markets, education, and international development. At Bryant, he leads strategic planning, institutional effectiveness, and brand initiatives, aligning data-driven insights with long-term organizational goals to strengthen the University’s reputation and impact.
Jeffrey Thompson
Vice President and Economist, Federal Reserve Bank of Boston
Jeffrey P. Thompson is a vice president and economist in the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston Research Department, where he is the director of the New England Public Policy Center. Prior to joining the Boston Fed, Thompson was a principal economist at the Federal Reserve Board and a professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst’s Political Economy Research Institute. He specializes in public and labor economics, household finance, applied microeconomics, income, wealth, and consumption inequality, state and local taxes, and regional economics. Thompson earned his PhD in economics from Syracuse University. He joined the Boston Fed in 2018.
