Robotic Casting & Forging Forum
Join us at our Pittsburgh headquarters on March 11!
Join the ARM Institute on March 11 for our Robotic Casting & Forging Forum! This workshop will take place as a fully in-person event at our Pittsburgh headquarters. This event is free to attend.

Our forum will convene government experts, foundries, technology providers, end-users, and other ARM Members to explore robotics for casting and forging. Through the workshop, you’ll learn best practices, assist with updating our robotic casting and forging roadmap, help the government identify gaps where further development is needed, connect with like-minded organizations, and explore specific areas of interest, such as non-destructive testing (NDT) use case prioritization and data requirements for industry standard software needs.

This event will also feature project-teaming, proposal ideation, and networking activities to set a foundation to form future project teams around this topic and others! Don’t miss out on this opportunity to connect to your fellow members.

Capacity is limited - secure your spot today!

Who Should Attend: This event is open only to ARM Members and a select list of non-Member experts in this area. The following types of ARM Members may find this event to be particularly valuable:

- Robotics and technology suppliers
- Government experts interested in robotic casting and forging
- Casting and forging end users
- Foundries and forges
- ARM Members who are interested in participating in ARM Institute-funded technology projects

Opening Remarks & Event Overview
The event will start with quick opening remarks from the ARM Institute to set expectations and goals for the day.
9:20 AM - 10:30 AM
Connecting Foundries to ARM Institute Projects
In this session, we'll feature insights from foundries, ARM Institute project participants, and others to showcase how the Casting & Forging Industry can partner with technology providers to collaborate on ARM Institute funded projects. By bridging the gaps between these groups, we'll lower the barriers to collaboration to enhance project outputs and ensure successful technology transition for end-users and the DoD/DoW.
10:30 AM - 10:45 AM
Coffee & Networking Break
Grab some coffee before we begin our interactive activity.
10:45 AM - 12:00 PM
Guided Speed Networking Activity
In this session, we'll provide a structured format for attendees to forge connections to one another, form project teams, and find areas of collaboration.
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Lunch & Open Networking
Grab your lunch and network with your fellow attendees!
1:00 PM - 2:45 PM
Interactive Activity- Use Cases and Challenges
The group will brainstorm use cases for Robotic Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). Through this activity, we'll aim to gather more details on the associated technology gaps and prioritize the specific use cases. This will also be an opportunity for you to learn from your fellow attendees, forge connections, and find areas for collaboration.
2:45 PM - 3:00 PM
Networking Break
Grab a refreshment before we begin our next interactive activity.
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Guided Activity: Concept Project Posters
In this session, attendees will work in groups to create project concept posters. The activity will end with reach group presenting their posters to the rest of the attendees to catalyze project ideas and get feedback, helping ARM Institute Members form stronger project teams and concepts that can advance from funding to real impact.
4:00 PM - 4:30 PM
Casting & Forging Roadmap Overview
We'll use this time to review the ARM Institute's most recent Casting & Forging Roadmap, which details the innovations needed to better leverage robotics and physical AI in the casting and forging industries. We will highlight some of the ARM Institute Project Calls that were a direct result of this roadmap, the results from these Project Calls, and what the road ahead looks like for next steps/continued innovation.
4:30 PM - 5:00 PM
Closing Remarks
We'll wrap up our workshop with closing remarks and discuss what's next.
 Join us on March 11
We look forward to seeing you!
